Whereas the book does a great job of explaining simple functional ideas, I am looking for more info on functors, monoids semigroups, applicative functors etc,. Starting to remember why I stalled reading it the first time....it takes a while to get to that section. Will try to skip the IO section and move directly to functors, but it's looking like I may need to re-evaluate.
FP in Scala has some information and there is some background information in the CATS book. There are also a few articles on Medium and Alvin Alexanders site. I am thinking maybe I am better off trying to piece my reading list together from these sources.
There is a video series here.
